Futronic Technology Company, a provider of fingerprint recognition software and hardware products, has introduced its FS90 USB2.0 mini fingerprint scanner.
According to the company, FS90 uses a specially designed optic system to deliver high quality image in a very small form factor. It is 57x29x27mm in size.
FS90 can reportedly be used together with all Futronic standard software products, FinLogon Personal Edition, FinLogon Enterprise Edition, SDK and FAS, said the company.
Futronic claims that with a 15x22mm finger scanning window and 300×440 pixel image resolutions, FS90 can capture an un-distorted fingerprint image into a PC in 0.1 second.
The illumination for finger scanning is automatically adjusted according to fingerprint’s characteristics to optimize the quality of the captured image. The finger scanning window is a 13mm thick crown glass prism. The finger scanning window is a crown glass with a thickness of 13mm. It is much more reliable and robust compared to any semiconductor type fingerprint sensor, claims the company.
According to the company, the finger is illuminated by 4 infra-red LEDs during scanning and the light intensity is automatically adjusted according to scanning fingerprint’s characteristics (wet, dry, blurred, etc) to optimize the quality of the captured fingerprint image.
