Fujitsu has debuted UniflDone, a package for the integrated management of user IDs across multiple systems scattered through an academic environment.
Fujitsu said this system integrates the management of user IDs, passwords, names, affiliations, and addresses across the various systems used in an academic setting, including personnel and student-life systems, library-information systems, and continuing education coursework systems.
The latest system gives universities a single system where user information can be recorded and updated, and allows them to manage settings such as e-mail environments and printing restrictions, the company noted.
Fujitsu said with the new offering, it aims to provide academic institutions with an integrated ID management package, that can handle the complex ID-management tasks that result from a university’s particular need to accommodate multiple user categories and affiliations.
This prevents manually setting up, changing, and deleting IDs on each system, making ID management more efficient.
In addition, with optional ID Lifecycle Management, the system can assign appropriate access permissions to each system automatically based on a student’s enrollment status, whether active, on leave, graduated.
Lifetime ID Management can provide integrated management outside of a person’s university years to cover their time at affiliated institutions such as grammar schools, middle schools, high schools, as well as their time after graduation, the company said.
With UniflDone Campuswide Option V1, students can be automatically granted appropriate access permission on each system based on their enrollment status through ID Lifecycle Management.
Through UniflDone Campuswide Expanded Option V1, integrated ID management can be extended beyond students’ university years to cover their time at affiliated schools and as alumni through Lifetime ID Management.
The package can be added to systems that are already in operation.
