The new service is based on the FortuNAS hardware, a range of Network-Attached Storage products from Fortuna, and the Active Circle software platform.
FortuNAS is a range of network attached storage products based on either SATA or SAS disk technology. The FortuNAS product line starts at 5 Tb and scales up to 100 Tb, and can be aggregated using Active Circle. The FortuNAS products feature redundant power supplies, dedicated RAID controller, and swap disk drives.
The Active Circle software platform is a distributed, tiered and secured file system. It’s standards-based integrated set of services drives physical storage nodes behind a global storage space that provides file lifecycle management, high availability and data protection, and can grow with needs by adding nodes or capacity on-demand.
Ray Quattromini, CEO of Fortuna, said: Active Circle’s clustered file storage platform combined with our FortuNAS range of NAS products provides a highly secured, tiered and distributed storage system for organizations wishing to manage data growth at reasonable costs.
Philippe Boyon, marketing director at Active Circle, said: The main challenge in many organizations is to manage data growth. The combination of Fortuna’s products and Active Circle software platform delivers a powerful and competitive storage solution for managing data growth while avoiding being locked into proprietary solutions.
