EMC offers integrated backup products

Increases backup speeds and simplifies configuration and management

By CBR Staff Writer

Information infrastructure offerings provider EMC has released new NetWorker backup software integrated with Data Domain Boost software.

The company said the integration of these products increases backup speeds and simplifies replication management, set-up and monitoring.

EMC said the NetWorker Management Console now offers control for full range of data domain system functionality, including data domain replication for scheduling and monitoring of backups at all sites.

The firm has also announced new productivity enhancements for NetWorker users, such as checkpoint restart, simplified cloning and new disk load balancing and space management capabilities.

In addition, the new backup software features backup to disk enhancements that optimises use of advanced file type devices, and new capacity-based licensing option that enables customers to purchase it based on amount of source data protected.
