Food company EAT is deploying the QlikView Business Discovery platform from Business Intelligence (BI) company QlikTech.

The deployment will help EAT management make fast, informed decisions in real-time by exploring and understanding product, store and staff performance and consumer purchasing behaviours, said QlikView.

EAT, a high street food retailer with over 100 stores across London, sells a range of fresh foods and drink. The chain makes its food in store every day. QlikView said EAT needed a next-generation BI offering to help spot growth opportunities and gain deeper insight into the business.

QlikView Global Market Development – CP, Retail & Distribution senior director Rebecca Braverman said EAT selected QlikView to be used by managers across all its departments to aid its business discovery process.

EAT Head of IT Rene Batsford added: "We’re looking forward to having access to a mature, scalable and flexible business intelligence system with information that is always up-to-date."

"QlikView gives us access to instant, relevant data that is consistent across the business, so all managers are in unison. Access to this information and insight into product, store and employee performance also means best practice examples can be replicated across the business. Our employees are amazed at what we have already learnt using QlikView – it’s helped us discover opportunities that we never even considered before. We can’t wait to start using it on a daily basis," Batsford said.

QlikTech Northern Europe & MD UK & Ireland RVP Sean Farrington said: "EAT is one of the UK’s most well-known food chains, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide it with the intelligence to build on its success to date. EAT is well-positioned to grow even further as an innovative company that embraces new ways of working such as using tablets for increased mobility and information management."
