UK-based Customer Science company dunnhumby has deployed WANdisco Fusion to maximise the performance of its Big Data analytics systems.
WANdisco, is a provider of continuous-availability software for global enterprises to help them meet the challenges of Big Data.
WANdisco Fusion uses active replication technologies to provide up to date data from one Hadoop cluster to another, regardless of where those clusters are physically located.
Dunnhumby provides analytic, consulting and media services to a retailers and consumer brands, and it analyses data from around 1 billion retail customers to gain insight on its customer intent and behaviour.
It had invested in Hadoop to reduce the costs of its data warehouse, but now the company is migrating more applications across in order to get a greater understanding of the data it analyses.
It expects to get richer analysis of future spending habits of customers so it can offer more accurate and timely advice on the offers it recommends to its corporate customers.
WANdisco says Fusion can be implemented across Oracle BDA, Cloudera, Hortonworks, and MapR.
WANdisco CEO David Richards said: "Data analytics is transforming the world’s most successful businesses, but the transition from potential to impact is based on enterprise-enabled products being able to combine efficiency and quality.
