Galen Therapy Centre said it had increased website traffic after seeking advice from digital marketing adviser Upd8 Technology.
The Sussex-based company, which provides specialist treatments for dogs, said it had decreased the number of bounces, where a web user views a single page on a website then leaves, after attending an Upd8 seminar on measurements and supplements.
Office manager Natalie Ansell said she started using Google Analytics Data after being told to measure the website’s bounce rate.
"If you don’t know what it is, then how do you know if anything needs to change?" she said.
"At first we worked hard to improve the rate by monitoring our traffic through the Google search engine. Then we turned our attention to the second highest web traffic, which came via facebook. After making a few changes to words on the page we brought our bounce rate for the home page down by almost half," she added.
Julia Robertson, Managing Director, said she had also gained ideas about keeping content fresh and relevant.
"By actively applying this knowledge we have managed to build our client base and ensure our customers have a reason to keep visiting our site. Our business is dedicated to prolonging the quality of life for all dogs so our clients also gain from regular updates on how to keep their dogs happy and healthy," she said.
