Dell unveils new server, storage, networking offerings for SMBs

To help SMBs update their technology infrastructures

By CBR Staff Writer

Dell has unveiled new PowerEdge servers, PowerVault storage, and PowerConnect networking offerings that help businesses update their technology infrastructures with easy integration, minimal downtime, and the ability to scale, under constrained budgets.

With the new offerings, small and medium businesses (SMBs) can integrate into their current infrastructure for enhanced productivity, the company said.

The new PowerEdge R415 and R515 servers include the Dell Server Deployment Pack; Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager; and Lifecycle Controller.

The PowerEdge servers are designed to help businesses increase productivity, improve security and continuity, simplify management and usability, and improve reliability, according to the Dell.

The PowerVault NX200 storage facilitates small businesses to access file storage on a centralised device to find, backup, recover, and maintain data. It comes with an automated installation wizard, and features a 2GB RAM.

The PowerConnect W-Series Wireless Networking offering facilitates SMBs to scale their networks by delivering connectivity and security to mobile workers.

The networking offering provides a centralised management console, which allows customers to manage wireless access points, and allows employees and authorised guests to connect wirelessly.

The company has also introduced OEM Microsoft System Center Essentials 2010, which helps customers consolidate servers, monitor systems, and manage hardware, software and services through a unified console.

The OEM Microsoft System Center Essentials 2010 provides management for virtualised and non-virtualised servers in Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
