Axway, a provider of collaborative business solutions, has implemented its Synchrony platform as the foundation for DB Schenker’s multi-enterprise integration platform, the Schenker Worldwide Online Realtime Data Interchange Network.

Axway-based Schenker Worldwide Online Realtime Data Interchange Network (SWORD) presents one centralized interface to DB Schenker’s global logistics customers for land transport, air and ocean freight, and is currently live in Asia, America, and Europe.

According to Axway, SWORD helps DB Schenker process various business transactions, from procurement orders, to processing and tracking of shipments, to invoicing. The EDI/EAI-platform controls the necessary data exchange and handles the integration of existing systems and applications.

The scalable framework visualizes all technical and business processes, and enables continuous monitoring of all data streams. Besides customer and DB Schenker-specific data formats, the platform also supports all industry-related formats and transfer protocols such as FTP, OFTP, AS2, and HTTP. Along with the introduction of SWORD, DB Schenker has also implemented globally consistent processes for interacting with its customers.

Christophe Fabre, CEO of Axway, said: For global providers such as DB Schenker, it is extremely important to be able to rely upon a robust collaboration platform. With Synchrony, we supplied a scalable, reliable and high-performance platform, which enables DB Schenker to ideally utilize its strengths in global competition.
