Concentric has announced its Managed Backup service to provide small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) with data backup and recovery services.
According to Concentric, the new backup service helps to manage data growth and to solve business problems including regulatory compliance, disaster recovery and data protection for local and remote offices.
The service uses EVault backup and recovery technology from i365. The online, disk-to-disk service reportedly provides data protection and recovery without any need for network or backup infrastructure.
The company said that the new service delivers automated online backup and recovery services while reducing the storage footprint. Only new and changed data at the block level is compressed, encrypted and transmitted offsite to one of Concentric’s secure data centres where it is further de-duplicated. Users can access, manage and restore data through a web interface.
