New components of the Cognos 8 enterprise-class platform that ease deployment and management includes model advisor, snapshot of system health, proactive administration, upgrade manager.

 

These key advancements will help organizations see a greater return on their BI investments, especially as they expand their community of Cognos BI users, said Leah MacMillan, vice-president of product marketing at Cognos. Customers will be able to improve overall business performance by enabling diverse users from front-line business personnel to financial analysts to executives to receive personalized, relevant information where, when and how they need it.

Cognos 8 BI v3 is the third major release of Cognos’ business intelligence flagship that was introduced in 2005. In September 2005, Cognos launched Cognos 8 Business Intelligence solution, a product that provided the complete range of BI functionality on a single web services-based architecture.
