Mac users can now monitor, control basic CrashPlan features from the menu bar

By CBR Staff Writer

Onsite, offsite and online backup applications provider Code 42 Software has updated CrashPlan and CrashPlan PRO backup applications for consumers and small businesses.

The company has also launched new updates to the CrashPlan and CrashPlan PRO mobile apps.

The latest version 3.2 of CrashPlan and CrashPlan PRO will in an improved manner aid their customers inbacking up their data..

The new enhancements will enable users to automatically pause backups when they connect to selected networks or interfaces and Mac users to monitor, control basic CrashPlan features from the menu bar.

Once a laptop’s battery reaches the user specified battery charge level, all backups will be paused, allowing users to conserve battery power by not backing up.

Code 42 chief marketing officer Mike Evangelist said the update adds three requested features from the company’s CrashPlan and CrashPlan PRO users: the ability to pause backups on certain networks and when running on battery, as well as a Mac menu bar add-on for controlling and monitoring backups.
