Cisco partners with Microsoft to accelerate private cloud adoption

The companies will jointly invest to support sales teams and channel partners.

By CBR Staff Writer

Cisco has announced plans to collaborate with Microsoft to speed up the private and hybrid cloud infrastructure deployment across the globe.

The companies will jointly invest in programmes to support sales teams and channel partners as well as help customers to upgrade their data centres with private cloud applications.

Both companies are planning to help customers in simplifying data centre operations, increase IT productivity and enhance data centre economics by integrating the Cisco Unified Data Centre architecture with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and System Centre 2012.

Cisco CSO Padmasree Warrior said that in the mobile-cloud era IT organisations need an integrated technology architecture that enables business agility, operational simplicity and improved application performance.

"Now, we’re taking the next step by investing together to rapidly accelerate demand for our private cloud solutions," Warrior added.

Microsoft server and tools business president Satya Nadella said: "We are excited to work with Cisco to help our joint customers implement proven private and hybrid cloud solutions and improve their data centre operations."
