Cisco boosts Mobility IQ for telecoms providers

SaaS analytics solution launched at MWC.

By Alexander Sword

Cisco has launched Mobility IQ, a software as a service (SaaS) analytics solution for communication service providers.

Hosted on Cisco Cloud Services, the solution provides a real-time bird’s eye view across wi-fi, 3G and 4G network activity.

Among its features, Mobility IQ provides a single picture of the health of the entire network and application programme interfaces (APIs). It also provides insights into indoor and outdoor mobile use, such as location paths and social media activity.

It also provides business customers real-time information about customer and end-user trends. In addition, customers will receive APIs to simplify creation of value partnerships.

Providers often lose oversight over their data as services get scaled and can have limited visibility into networks that are indoor and within businesses.

The service, launched today at MWC, taps into the ever-growing demands of mobile data networks; a recent report by Cisco estimated that global mobile data traffic will grow almost tenfold in the next five years.

Kelly Ahuja, Senior Vice President of Service Provider Business, Products and Solutions, Cisco, commented: "Mobility IQ is a great example of Cisco executing on its service provider strategy, enabling our customers to drive profitable business outcomes through transformation.
