Teradata offers various platforms to cater to the business and analytical data warehouse needs throughout the organization. The platforms include Teradata Data Mart Appliance, Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance and the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Teradata’s data warehousing system provides integrated technology for a single application-neutral repository of the customer’s current and historical data, forming the framework of the business intelligence architecture. Teradata 13.0, the latest database release, includes features such as parallel database technology, mixed workload management tool, a suite of data access and management tools and data mining software.

According to Teradata, the system selected by the retailer will include software and hardware and will be supported by Teradata professional services.
The new intelligence platform will enable analysis of data pertaining to customer shopping history and preferences, and customer communications management. This will support Carrefour’s initiatives in France to provide more complete and effective service to its customers, Teradata said.

Eric Joulie, president of Teradata France, said: Carrefour is taking a dramatic step forward in consolidating their data infrastructure to better compete on analytics and get quick, precise answers to complex business questions. Having the best answer to any business question, any time, is a priceless economic advantage to companies that know how to create and leverage analytical intelligence.
