BMC Software has unveiled a self-service mobile app and business intelligence enhancements for its powerful workload automation offering, Control-M.

BMC said it is also introducing a new wizard conversion toolset that makes it simple and fast for companies to consolidate on Control-M and achieve improved productivity and efficiency.

This launch is basically due to organisations’ realising the importance of having one enterprise-wide workload automation offering.

The Cognos Business Intelligence has been added to the Control-M offering to enable organisations manage their automated workload activity, in a role-based, self-service view on their iPad tablet device or iPhone.

The Control-M Self Service mobile app is available for free download in the Apple iTunes store and enables users to monitor and manage scheduled processing and complex event workloads from anywhere via their mobile device.

With newly-integrated capabilities to support clouds running on the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution, Amazon EC2 or on VMware infrastructure, BMC’s Control-M workload automation offering provides businesses the elasticity needed to support the known and unknown spikes in workload processing.

This allows businesses to more cost-effectively manage their capacity needs and ensure business service levels are met when processing scheduled work in the cloud, including business transactions and business processes, the company said.
