Attunity unveils ODR offerings for Oracle customers

Focuses on enhancing business intelligence, improve business operations and reduce total costs

By CBR Staff Writer

Attunity, a provider of real-time data integration and event capture software, has unveiled new offerings on ‘Operational Data Replication’ (ODR), which is designed to enable Oracle customers to replicate data in real-time to and from Oracle databases.

Reportedly, ODR (Operational Data Replication) focuses on delivering operational data to support operational/real-time BI requirements at a price point that can be considerably lower, enabling cost savings in hardware, software licenses, and implementation services.

The company said that the new offerings are designed to enhance business intelligence (BI), improve business operations and reduce total costs.

According to Attunity, the new ODR offerings that Oracle customers can leverage include, stand alone, end-to-end ODR application for replicating data across heterogeneous data sources; and ODR offering that is integrated with existing DBMS investments, specifically with SQL Server.

In addition, the new offering includes an event-driven ODR based on capturing database change events leveraging event data capture (EDC) technology and existing application integration or service oriented architecture (SOA) middleware.

All these offerings support Oracle as a source of operational data or as a target hosting data for business intelligence. Customers can design cost-effective offerings that enable initiatives such as operational business intelligence, real-time data warehousing, or propagate changes to ensure consistency across heterogeneous applications, the company said.

Shimon Alon, chief executive officer of Attunity, said: The need for real-time information is growing and with it the costs of making it available for business users to support decisions and operations. As a strategic Oracle partner, we are focused on bringing our ODR offering to the large Oracle community, helping customers to capitalise on their information assets, provide high return on investment and become more competitive, while benefiting from the cost-savings that our technology offers.
