Apple has announced that its complimentary iCloud Storage for MobileMe users, which was supposed to end on 30 September 2012, has been extended by one year.
Extention of the service by one more year will allow MobileMe users to enjoy that free 20GB of storage at no charge.
MobileMe customers who migrated to iCloud between 12 October 2011 and 1 August 2012 were given a limited-time, free upgrade to help with the transition. Users who pay for extra storage services would be allowed to choose between 10GB, 20GB or 50GB storage upgrade.
The storage upgrade was based on the amount of MobileMe storage that users are paying for when they moved to iCloud.
Apple also said any further subscriptions of iCloud upgrades will replace the complimentary storage plan. This means the cancellation of the new upgrade will take users back to the standard 5GB of free storage, not the amount reflected in the complimentary extension.
