Agilysys, a provider of IT offerings, has created a new data protection offering that combines product platforms from FalconStor Software, Hitachi Data Systems and Symantec.
The company said that the new Scalable Available Backup and Restore (SABR) offering is built upon FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with deduplication, Symantec NetBackup OpenStorage (OST) and the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000 family of storage systems.
Agilysys claims that its new offering is designed to help organisations backup windows and deliver fast, accurate restores. It is available in pre-configured offerings for data centres of all sizes, including packages for the global enterprise data centre to the remote office/branch office (ROBO).
Jim Beckman, vice president of business development and alliances for Hitachi Data Systems, said: "The SABR solution takes full advantage of the scalable performance of the Hitachi Adaptable Modular 2000 family, which also provides five nines of data availability with no single point of failure – ideal for an integrated system designed to ensure continuous data availability."
