About 95% of finance professionals have shown interest in adopting document management software over its environmental benefits, according to a survey carried out in the UK by document management software firm V1.
The survey revealed that 88% of organisations were concerned about their effect on the environment, indicating a strong interest in environmental awareness.
About 89% of those surveyed mainly considered the business benefits of going green, while according to 10% of them considered environmental benefits during the purchasing process.
V1 managing director Greg Ford said the research shows that despite the economic climate, organisations are still seeing the importance of a green agenda.
"Electronic document management makes smart business sense as it reduces paper consumption and CO2 emissions," Ford added.
Conversely, about 54% admitted that financial incentives most probably persuaded them to cut down their negative impact on the environment.
