2015 Discovering Start-ups Competition: 16 finalists waiting to be discovered

List: The winners of the 6th annual Cambridge Wireless competition will be announced today - here are the finalists.

By Ellie Burns

Today marks the 6th Discovering Start-ups Competition, organised by Cambridge Wireless and hosted by Deloitte.

Five winners will be chosen from the 16 finalists, with each start-up given one last chance to pitch their ideas, technologies and products to an elite panel of judges.

Looking at the panel of over 30 judges, ‘elite’ is certainly an accurate description with the likes of Samsung, Qualcomm Ventures, IBM, and Google among the assembled venture capitalists and industry experts.

There is certainly a lot to play for, with winners receiving a £500 cash prize, exposure to Business Investors and Angels, a one year Cambridge Wireless membership and a guaranteed place in the finals of the £50,000 Wayra Acceleration programme.

But who are these 16 finalists and could one of them be the next Uber or Facebook? CBR gives you a snapshot of the start-ups waiting to be discovered at today’s event.
