ZTE introduces new LTE micro base station for hotspot coverage

Can be applied in various complex environments

By CBR Staff Writer

Telecommunications equipment and network offerings provider ZTE has rolled out commercial LTE micro base station – ZXSDR BS8920 – for urban and indoor hotspot coverage.

The ZXSDR BS8920 can be applied in various complex environments, such as blind spots or indoor/outdoor areas, LTE hotspots and hybrid networks.

The product is said to have the capacity of any LTE micro base station at 150Mbps, with 2X10W transmit power and 2T4R modulation for a large footprint.

ZTE claims the design of the product offers lower TCO due to reduced hardware, power consumption and deployment costs, compared to other distributed base stations.

The base station meets industry requirements for an Omni sector eNodeB product, with less than half of the size and weight of a standard remote radio unit (RRU), the company said.

It also supports all-standard LTE frequency band spectrums and AC/DC power supply.
