Zayo Bandwidth to deploy TDM and ethernet services in Philadelphia

To support bandwidth requirements of 3g and 4g technologies

By CBR Staff Writer

Zayo Bandwidth, a provider of bandwidth infrastructure services, said that it will deploy TDM and ethernet services to an additional 300 wireless tower sites in the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas of Pennsylvania in support of the current mobile platform and the upcoming transition to 4th generation technologies.

The company said that the deployment will enable the delivery of LTE wireless network services, and expand existing network capacity and bandwidth to accommodate new, mobile services and applications.

Reportedly, the announcement will expand Zayo Bandwidth’s wireless tower footprint across the country to more than 1,100 locations.

Chris Murphy, vice president of sales and business development at Zayo Bandwidth, said: With new mobile applications requiring significantly greater bandwidth, mobile service providers are faced with meeting tomorrow’s bandwidth requirements today.
