Wind Telecomunicazioni, a provider of fixed-mobile-internet communications services, has selected Critical Path’s Memova Anti-Abuse system, integrated with Cloudmark Authority, to protect its subscriber base from outbound email threats.

According to Critical Path, Wind Telecomunicazioni (Wind) has launched a newly redesigned Libero webmail experience powered by the company’s messaging system and protected by the Anti-Abuse system.

With Memova Anti-Abuse C-2000, Libero now provides an enhanced experience for its users with outbound abuse protection preventing Libero customers from being blacklisted. The system is also expected to reduce WIND’s abuse-related costs, detecting and stopping messaging threats with false-positive rates, regardless of the message’s language or format, said Critical Path.

Critical Path also said that the integration with Cloudmark Authority, a carrier-grade gateway system deployed in service provider networks around the world, adds features, such as real-time data feeds from the Cloudmark Collaborative Security Network Classifier, fingerprinting algorithm technology and a trust-based reporting system.

Renato Miletti, vice president for southern Europe at Critical Path, said: We are excited that WIND has expanded its relationship with Critical Path and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them. The new solution not only offers performance for detecting spam, virus and phishing attacks, it also boasts the highest level of accuracy in the marketplace.
