Data centre specialist Virtus has released on-demand based services, allowing users to alter their interconnect bandwidth contracts quickly.

The Connectivity-On-Demand services allow users to shorten or lengthen their bandwidth contracts on a monthly basis, paying only for the amount consumed.

There are no hidden charges and the higher the actual consumed bandwidth the lower the unit charge, the company said.

Virtus, which recently selected Romonet to help run its data centre, said would compliment its CoLo-On-Demand service that also allows users to pay for the amount they want on a daily basis.

Neil Cresswell, CEO of Virtus, said: "Our customers’ IT business requirements are continually evolving and these new services are part of our commitment to providing the most flexible and efficient data centre solutions in the best eco-efficient ‘carrier neutral’ facilities in London.

Earlier this month, Virtus said it’s looking for more data centres after starting the construction of its latest site in West London.
