Verizon Business signs services agreement with Synterra

To strengthen its position in Russia

By CBR Staff Writer

Synterra, a Russia-based telecommunications service provider, and Verizon Business have signed a master services agreement to provide communications services to customers of both companies. The signing occurred in Moscow, Russia, during the week of the US-Russian Presidential Summit.

The partners said that the joint agreement will allow Synterra customers in Russia to expand their geographic presence by accessing the Verizon Business communications network. Verizon Business will leverage the Synterra network and send customer traffic to major cities throughout Russia.

According to Verizon Business, independent telecommunications system operators in Russia will be able to send their traffic to the Synterra data centre in Moscow, where the traffic will be transferred to the Verizon Business network. The network is expected to provide Synterra customers with access to more than 150 counties and 200 data centres located around the world, as well as to Verizon Business’s voice, data, video and IP services.

In addition, Verizon Business will use Synterra’s Moscow data centre to offer customer traffic to the Synterra network.
