Verizon Business has revealed that it is adding management of several applications to its Cisco Unified Communications System Release 7.0 portfolio. The new applications, which include presence, contact centre and messaging, are available to customers in the US and many European countries, and will be available early next year in the Asia-Pacific region.
Verizon said that it is expanding its portfolio of products to enable large businesses and government agencies to manage, monitor and maintain enterprise wide unified communications and collaboration (UC&C).
Verizon currently manages the Cisco Unified Communications System Release 7.0 applications. The new applications currently being managed by Verizon are: Cisco Unity Connection; Cisco Unified Presence; Cisco Emergency Responder; and Cisco Unified Contact Center Express.
The company said that UC&C uses IP networking to integrate various communications systems, media, devices and applications, to allow enterprises to streamline business processes.
The Cisco platform is reportedly suited for large numbers of end users, and allows streamlining of devices required for enterprise wide UC&C deployments.
Nancy Gofus, senior vice president of global business products at Verizon, said: IT decision-makers continue to view unified communications as a primary way to transform operations and change organisational collaboration both internally and with customers, partners and suppliers. Our fully managed UC&C solutions can help enterprises improve productivity, enhance customer service and streamline critical business processes.
