Acision has announced that Telus has signed a multi-year agreement to use Acision’s advanced messaging offering across the company’s multiple mobile network technologies, including CDMA 2000, UMTS, HSPA+ and iDEN.
Acision said that this agreement positions Telus for future development as its messaging offering is designed to enable operators to scale and launch additional mobile data services.
Telus vice-president of Network Technology Ken Kerrigan said that the company is seeing tremendous interest from its customers for new SMS capabilities.
"In Acision, we have found a partner which offers a best-in-breed next generation SMS architecture that addresses the opportunities available to us today and positions us to deliver superior services in the future," Kerrigan said.
"In addition to a superior customer experience and future-proof SMS messaging environment, this centrally-managed SMS platform simplifies our current architecture and reduces our Total Cost of Ownership significantly."
Acision will also deploy its Universal Gateway, which enables the introduction of new third-party services, real-time event triggering and database look ups; the Central Management Station, a framework to monitor, measure and manage messaging data services; and Business Tools, which enables services and key performance reporting, as well as web based customer care.
