TeliaSonera sets up second point of presence in Singapore

Swedish telecom operator TeliaSonera International Carrier has expanded its global backbone into Asia and sets up its second point of presence in Singapore.

TeliaSonera International Carrier owns and manages over 43,000km of fiber-optic cable and has more than 100 points of presence (PoP) across Europe, the US and Asia.

Malin Frenning, president of TeliaSonera International Carrier, said: Our further expansion into Asia, following our PoP in Hong Kong is an important strategic step in our ambition to become one of the three largest global IP carriers. TeliaSonera has chosen Singapore for it second internet PoP in Asia due to Singapore being the internet hub of South East Asia and the place to be for internet services in the region.
