Telefonica Q3 revenue up 7.1% to €15.22bn

Total customers base grew to 282 million

Telefonica Group has reported revenues of €15.22bn for the third quarter of 2010, an increase of 7.1% compared to €14.2bn for the same period last year.

Operating income before depreciation and amortisation increased by 67% to €9.5bn, compared to €5.7bn for the same period a year ago.

OIBDA margin was up by 21.8 percentage point to 62.1% compared to 40.3% for the same period last year.

For the quarter ended 30 September 2010, the company posted a net income of €5.1bn or EPS of €1.12, up 183% compared to €1.8bn or EPS of €0.42 for the same period last year.

Geographically, Spain revenues decreased by 4.1% to €4.7bn from €4.9bn for the same period last year.

European revenues outside Spain increased by 14.3% to €4bn from €3.5bn, while Latin America revenues decreased by 89% to €0.64m from €5.7bn.
