For many avid QI watchers, Stephen Fry’s knowledge of the classical to the bizarre is unrivalled, with the former quiz master now channelling his passion for learning into a new online platform.
Dubbed Pindex, the online platform was borne from Fry’s co-founders, a teacher and a parent, who were both frustrated with the lack of engaging materials in schools.
Geared towards teachers and professors, Pindex is a pinboard for learning, enabling users to collect and share educational material. The aim is to ease the pressure on teachers to make every topic engaging, instead providing a pinboard for inspiration and ideas.
Teachers and professors can curate material for their classes on public boards – making them available to other educators around the world. Automatically-marked quizzes enable teachers to set assignments without creating extra work for themselves.
Launched today, the online platform made its debut with a raft of curated and original material on topics from the LHC and the Hyperloop to atoms and energy.

Pindex aims to cover as many US and UK school topics as possible, initially starting with science, as well as general interest topics such as the colonisation of mars.
