Sprint has signed a three-year, $1.2bn worth contract extension with VHA, a Texas-based healthcare purchasing network.

Under the contract, Sprint will continue to provide wireless services including handsets, wireline and data capabilities to VHA and Provista members.

Sprint said that VHA and Provista serve approximately 1,350 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 30,000 non-acute health care organisations nationwide, employing more than 3 million people.

"Sprint business president Paget Alves said VHA’s confidence in Sprint speaks volumes. Alves added that over the course of more than 14 years, they’ve built a solid relationship with VHA and their members based on trust and the expectation of mutual growth.

"We look forward to continuing to supply the best value, network and offerings to VHA in the years to come," Alves said.
