The company is planning to deliver more than 48 processors in the 6th Gen Intel Core processor family.

By CBR Staff Writer

Intel has launched its 6th generation Intel Core processor family based on Skylake microarchitecture, with the chip developed using the company’s 14nm manufacturing process technology.

According to Intel, the latest processor is the best processor by the chipmaker, delivering enhanced performance and new immersive experiences.

The processor has been designed to work on the lowest power levels ever and supports a broad range of device designs including ultra-mobile compute stick and new mobile workstations.

Intel said that its 6th Gen Intel Core processors are capable of delivering up to two and a half times better performance, triple the battery life, and 30 times better graphics than the average 5-year-old computer.

The next generation chip will allow device makers to make devices with a broad range of designs, as the Intel Core M processors are now capable of providing twice the performance of leading premium tablets and it will include m3, m5 and m7 processors.

The company is also introducing Intel Compute Stick lineup, and for mobile devices it is introducing unlocked "K" SKU that will provide more user control, a new quad-core Intel Core i5 processor offering up to 60% improved mobile multitasking, and the Intel Xeon E3 processor family that will be capable of powering mobile workstations.

Intel senior vice president Kirk Skaugen said: "New 6th Gen Intel Core-based systems are more responsive than ever with enhanced performance, battery life and security.
