Six Degrees Group, the converged technology infrastructure provider, has announced the launch of a major new data centre in Birmingham.
In connection with its launch, Six Degrees Group is also expanding its national network into central Birmingham. This will provide customers with reliable, high speed connectivity directly into the data centre.
The centre, which is located alongside the city’s ‘Silicon Canal’, has a brand new 5,800m state-of-the-art facility. This is expected to enable local businesses to provide world class digital services on a sound economic footing.
Mike Ing, COO at Six Degrees Group, confirmed the facilities saying: “Our customers’ will also get access to the whole 6DG portfolio of services, from networking through to voice and cloud services, laaS, VDI, back up and DR.”
It is expected to deliver high performance energy-efficient data centre space, which will meet up to demands of businesses across the Midlands and the rest of UK.
Being one of the largest data centre properties in the Midlands, the new facility has been designed to the highest standard. In support of this, each data centre is expected to deliver 1.5MW of capacity with industry-leading energy efficiency capabilities at a design PUE of 1.3.
