Pure Storage puts SAP HANA in the flash fast lane

Flash will give customers more control of their hardware and infrastructure.

Pure Storage’s FlashArray 400 Series has been certified by SAP as an enterprise storage solution for the SAP HANA platform.

The application will accelerate performance for environments running on SAP HANA and allow customers to control their already in place hardware and infrastructure components.

The company explained that SAP HANA combines database, data processing and application platform capabilities in-memory.

Matt Kixmoeller, VP of Products at Pure Storage said: "Building for the Internet of Things, leveraging big data-driven initiatives, and making sense of real-time analytics are just a few of the projects our customers are driving.

"When run on flash, not only can projects like this lead to IT transformation, they result in business transformation – a smarter business, a faster business and new innovations previously not possible."

Eric Burgener, Research Director at IDC said: "SAP HANA is seeing rapid adoption among customers looking to handle both high transaction rates and complex query processing on the same platform.

"Performance is critical in these environments, and SAP-certified solutions like Pure Storage give customers the option to deploy high performance flash arrays with confidence."
