Ping Networks has expanded its network infrastructure in the Manchester city.
The expansion will allow it to offer high bandwidth and enhanced connectivity into London and beyond.
The company said Manchester’s primary data centre facilities including Telecity’s new Joule House facility can access its MPLS, IP Transit, Layer 2 services while data centre interconnects within the city and back to London at speeds of about 10Gbps per link.
Expansion is a part of the company’s wider expansion plan designed to gain profits from the rising demand for customers to extend their network requirements into and across Europe.
Ping Networks managing director Simon Chaimberlain said Manchester data centres are offer the company the opportunity to provide value-added services to customers and interconnect with hundreds of other carriers.
"As a highly-connected city with significant geographical separation from London, customers are increasingly looking to locate infrastructure in both London and Manchester as part of disaster recovery strategy," Chaimberlain added.
"With an existing high capacity network portfolio in London, Ping Networks can now offer completely diverse high capacity links between major data centres in both Cities."

In addition, the company is planning to move into other European digital hubs including Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Dublin.
