Orange launches new iOS communication app

Libon will enable users to make free High Definition voice calls, send text messages and create personalised voicemails

Telecommunications operator Orange has launched a new, free iOS communication app, Libon that is available on the iTunes App Store now with plan to make it available to Android devices early next year.

Available for 90 countries, the new iOS communication app will enable users to make free High Definition voice calls, send text messages and create personalised voice mails through the app positioning itself against existing services like Skype, WhatsApp and Viber.

With the new app, callers can speak to other Libon users anywhere in the world and it works over both Wi-Fi and 3G, the company said.

In addition, the new iOS communication app also offers free text messages between Libon-linked devices through its instant messaging service.

The new application summarises user’s recent conversations to offer insightful contextual communications for the user.

Libon’s voicemail offers advanced features including customised greetings for individuals or groups, and text transcription of voicemail.

By recognising callers by their name and receiving user location, the voicemail service allows user to create different personalised messages for individuals or groups.

Libon will also convert voicemail messages into text for, enabling user to read them on the fly and it also enables users to type voicemail greeting which will be read by user choice of voice from the offered library.

The free version of Libon includes free HD calls and text messaging between Libon users, a visual voicemail with greetings customisation for up to three different contacts or groups of contacts, text-to-speech functionality, voicemails transcription for Libon contact messages, iPhone and email notification of missed voicemails received and more.

Libon saves and synches all the contacts, conversations, messages in cloud, helping user to recover the data in case of lost or theft of the mobile.

A premium version of the service is also available through in-app purchasing that includes unlimited customised greetings, full-length transcription of all voicemail messages, unlimited storage and email copies of all voicemails.

It also includes a full hour of international call talk time per month to landline or mobile numbers in 31 countries.
