Oracle has released its Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) which will allow the users to install Oracle engineered systems in their data centres for a monthly fee.
The ‘Capacity on Demand’ service will allow organisations to deploy Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle SPARC SuperCluster, Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine and Oracle Sun ZFS Storage Appliance, the company said.
The service is claimed to offer the organisations total control and visibility over their IT environments, allowing them to meet internal regulatory and security requirements with the on-premise, private cloud infrastructure.
Oracle Software Development senior vice president Juan Loaiza said that for the first time, customers can get the Oracle Engineered Systems deployed on premis and behind their firewall, for a monthly fee.
"Oracle Infrastructure as a Service with elastic compute Capacity on Demand makes it possible for customers to use, and pay for peak processing power only when they need it, and get the highest level of support with the new Oracle PlatinumPlus Services," Loaiza said.
The IaaS includes elastic compute Capacity on Demand, Oracle Engineered Systems hardware with Oracle premier support for systems, Exadata, Exalogic and SPARC SuperCluster.
The new Oracle Platinum Plus Service detects system performance, security compliance, system availability and offers solutions with quarterly analysis and advice by its experts.
