Nimbuzz releases new mobile social messenger for Android handsets

Home-screen notifications feature alerts the user of activities such as incoming chats

By CBR Staff Writer

Nimbuzz has released its multi community mobile social messenger application for Android handsets. For Android users, the new messenger application has features such as a buddy list layout, Skype IM, a time-sensitive user interface, home-screen notifications, auto-reconnect, clickable URLs, and local social network support.

Nimbuzz said that the home-screen notifications feature alerts the user of activities such as incoming chats, and the time-sensitive user interface option detects how long the user presses on a contact in the buddy list — a fast-click opens the contacts profile and a long-click opens a live chat window.

Reportedly, the buddy list displays information by combining avatar and presence information in one, with community icon and resource information, if the person is online on the mobile or PC, in the same line.

The company claimed that clickable URLs make for a multi media chat experience, and the additional support for local social networks such as StudiVZ, Hyves, Gadu Gadu, and Giovani, add to the feature list making Nimbuzz Android a comprehensive mobile social messaging application available for Android handsets.
