NEC has reported consolidated sales of JPY1.5 trillion ($18.2bn) for the first half of fiscal year 2011, a decrease of 11.2% compared to JPY1.7 trillion ($21bn) for the same period last year.
For the first half ended 30 September 2010, the company posted an operating income of JPY1.1bn, compared to an operating loss of JPY37.7bn in 2009.
The company posted net loss of JPY27bn, compared to net loss of JPY43.6bn, while net loss per share decreased by 11.18% to JPY10.42, compared to a loss JPY21.60 for the same period last year.
IT services sales were down by 1.7% to JPY371bn, Platform sales increased by 6.4% to JPY176.8bn, and Carrier Network segment sales decreased by 12.2% to JPY271bn.
Social infrastructure, personal offerings and other segment sales were JPY137.9bn, JPY392.1bn and JPY120.5bn, respectively.
For the fiscal year ending 31 March 2011, the company forecasts sales of JPY3.3 trillion, operating income of JPY100bn and net income of JPY15bn.
