Mirror Image Internet forms partnership with Wowza Media Systems

Expects to deliver high-performance streaming via Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced

By CBR Staff Writer

Mirror Image Internet, a provider of content delivery services powered by a patented global network, has formed a partnership with Wowza Media Systems, a provider of streaming media software services, to deliver high-performance streaming via Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced.

Mirror Image Internet said that Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced is a multi-protocol media server for live and on-demand streaming, chat, and recording. The product is claimed to enable companies to use streaming protocols that work with Microsoft’s Silverlight, Apple’s iPhone, RTMP for Flash, RTSP/RTP for QuickTime, and MPEG-TS for IPTV set-top boxes.

Mirror Image Internet also said that it has already deployed Wowza Media Server Pro Unlimited software network-wide for Flash streaming and will be offering multi-protocol streaming with Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced in the second half of 2009.

By deploying Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced, Mirror Image is expected to benefit from the new generation of Wowza products and a risk-free, flexible model for managing licensing costs according to customers’ streaming media demands, added Mirror Image Internet.

David Stubenvoll, CEO and co-founder of Wowza Media Systems, said: Our Wowza Media Server Pro Advanced server is unique from others on the market because it gives service providers the ability to stream to the web, mobile and living room screens from a unified industrial-strength platform. We are excited to be working with Mirror Image to provide multi-protocol streaming and interactive capabilities to its customers.
