Level 3 wins new services contract from JBT

For providing voice and data services, and upgrading network

By CBR Staff Writer

Level 3 Communications, a provider of fiber-based communications services, said that it has been selected to upgrade network, voice and data services for Lebanon, Penn.-based Jonestown Bank & Trust (JBT).

Under the terms of the contract, Level 3 – which currently provides frame-relay services to JBT – will increase the bandwidth it delivers for JBT’s voice and data services, and will also provide MPLS-based virtual private network (VPN) services to JBT’s nine Pennsylvania branch locations spread throughout Jonestown, Lebanon, Grantville, Newmanstown, Cleona and Palmyra.

Joseph Lieb, vice president of operations at JBT, said: "Having worked with Level 3, we knew they could provide cost-effective solutions that comply with the strict security standards that financial institutions require.

"Upgrading to the private network and voice services will allow us to grow our business and ensure a reliable user experience for our customers."
