Intel beats Q3 estimates with IoT & data centres

News: Client Computing Group revenue stood at $8.5bn.

Intel managed to beat industry estimates with Q3 2015 revenues of $14.5bn, driven largely by growth in the Data Center Group and IoT initiatives.

Analysts expected the company to report $14.2bn and $0.59 per-share, but Intel reported $0.64 per share.

When compared to Q2 the Intel’s revenue from its PC group grew by 13% to $8.5bn.

Its revenue from the Data Center Group grew by 12% in a year-on -year comparison to $4.1bn, with revenue from the IoT group up 10% up when compared to the revenue generated last year.

However, revenue from Software and services operating segments were flat in a year-on year comparison, which stood at $556m.

The company reported a Q3 net income of $3.1bn and gross margin of 63%. It highlighted the spending of $1.1bn on dividends during a three-month period, and repurchased 36 million of its own shares worth $1bn.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said: "We executed well in the third quarter and delivered solid results in a challenging economic environment. The quarter demonstrates Intel innovation in action."
