In the first phase of the engagement, GTA has deployed a MetaSwitch feature server and media gateway for hosted VoIP services to area businesses and several government agencies. Plans for subsequent phases include replacement of legacy TDM Class 4 and Class 5 switches serving over 70,000 access lines, effectively making the entire US territory.
As part of the strategic supplier agreement, MetaSwitch is also providing training and professional services to enable the GTA team to better manage and grow its next-generation network. Support for the deployment is being delivered from MetaSwitch’s Asia-Pacific operations center in Sydney, Australia.
