Google sharpens search options by time or type

Adds new tools to narrow search outcomes

By CBR Staff Writer

Google has tweaked the outputs of its search engine with nine new options that let internet browsers filter, refine and generate different views of their search results.

It has added Search Options tools for past hour, specific date range, more shopping sites, fewer shopping sites, visited pages, not yet visited, books, blogs and news.

The time and date options are particularly useful for someone looking for the freshest information, or if they have some idea of when the information may have been published to the web, Google said.

“With these tools you can choose to see only the most recent results in our index, or see results from a specific time period.”

The features are available globally in English.
