Exponential-e, a provider of next-generation networks and services, has deployed its Internet service for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
The company claims the high-speed fibre-based service is provided on a dedicated basis to the charity and does not need to be shared with other businesses on the same street unlike DLS-based Internet services intended for residential users.
The new service, named PowerNGN, is designed specifically for networking requirements of the business community that incorporates the ability to allocate bandwidth makes PowerNGN suitable for supporting other services.
Exponential-e business Internet service uses Route 1 routing algorithm called, which can screens multiple Tier 1 Internet transit providers for jitter, latency and packet loss so as to select the optimum routes across the Internet, the company said.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity head of IT Mark Saldanha said Exponential-e’s high-availability services are flexible and designed for business use.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity needs to raise £50m a year to help rebuild and refurbish Great Ormond Street Hospital, and also to provide vital up-to-date equipment and fund research into better treatments for the children.
