mCloud Helix Solution will enable Media Temple to offer the security and stability of private cloud services

By CBR Staff Writer

Dell has introduced an OpenStack-powered cloud appliance, mCloud Helix Solution in partnership with cloud provider Morphlabs.

Dell’s new private cloud application, mCloud Helix features PowerEdge C6220 server system with solid state disks (SSD), OpenStack cloud software and Dell’s Crowbar software framework.

It also comes along with 24×7 remote management and support services that maintain configurations and pushes updates as needed.

The new private cloud application can support up to 80 virtual CPUs (vCPUs) and 3TB in a single 2U C6220 chassis, the company said.

Developed as part of Dell’s Emerging Solutions Ecosystem Program will enable the company to offer specific cloud application to small and medium business customers.

Morphlabs CEO Winston Damarillo said: "The mCloud Helix is an inherent solution for Dell small and medium business customers and incorporates many of the Dell technologies and IP they already use, including Dell PowerEdge C servers."

The combined private cloud application will help web hosting and cloud services company Media Temple to offer the security and stability of private cloud services.
