By CBR Staff Writer

Hong Kong’s mobile network operator CSL has partnered with ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network offerings, to launch commercial grade LTE/DC-HSPA+ network.

The company said that the Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a mobile broadband network that increases capacity and speed, and provides peak downlink speeds of 100Mbps with low latency.

CSL’s combined LTE/DC-HSPA+ network provides high-speed data with high accessibility and full coverage across Hong Kong, ZTE said.

The new LTE/DC-HSPA+ network will take advantage of CSL’s spectrum position to provide total coverage and mobile broadband performance throughout Hong Kong.

CSL CEO Joseph O’Konek said the LTE/DC-HSPA+ network, will ensure they continue to go beyond expectations, delivering the best coverage and user experience in Hong Kong while meeting the rapidly increasing demand for mobile data driven by the proliferation of smartphone and tablet devices.

The LTE/DC-HSPA+ network will also provide Hong Kong people with 3DTV, interactive gaming and e-learning applications.
