In response to Telekenex’s motion, the King County Court in the US has lifted restrictions previously imposed on Telekenex against communicating with Straitshot Communications customers or vendors, approving communication with Straitshot customers with whom Telekenex employees previously had interactions and stipulating that Telekenex may communicate with its own vendors that happen to be Straitshot vendors, as well.
Telekenex, a business-grade service provider, appeared in court seeking the lifting of the two temporary restraining orders (TROs) obtained against it by Straitshot Communications. Straitshot has sued Telekenex alleging a variety of claims related to Telekenex’s efforts to assist Straitshot customers who have recently been told to quickly migrate off the Straitshot network.
Brandon Chaney, CEO of Telekenex, said: The court realized that, given the discussions between the two cosmpanies about Telekenex acquiring certain assets of Straitshot and the agreements entered into in the course of those discussions, the TROs issued earlier were overreaching in their scope. We are pleased with the significant narrowing of the TROs, and are confident that we will succeed in having them lifted in their entirety, once the court schedules a hearing on whether to render the TROs more permanent.
