BT has unveiled new suite of managed cloud-based Conferencing services (audio, Web and video) for the Italian market, that will be available from January 2011.
The new conferencing services allows customers to reduce their investment in multi-point conference equipment and requires less specialised supporting staff.
The cloud-based approach allows customers order via a user-friendly self service online booking system on a pay-as-you-go basis, even for a single video conference session across several offices.
In addition, BT’s centralised infrastructure, hosted via its data centres, provides both security and business continuity and delivers performance every time the on-demand features, services and resources are needed.
The company said that customers also benefit from inter-operability between video equipment from different vendors (Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom, Lifesize and Kontiki) and various technological offerings ranging from personal video systems to high-end telepresence services.
BT Italia marketing director Enrico Campagna said the company’s new cloud-based offering revolutionises the conferencing market as it reduces costs and allows customers to pay for used services only, while accessing a maximum of capabilities, improving efficiency, reducing travelling and environmental impact.
